COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT Community is the essence of the credit union movement and central to our corporate culture.
By putting money back into the credit union system, we help sustain and nurture the community that sustains us.
Charitable giving also plays a prominent role at Credential®. Our Philanthropy Committee organizes charitable events throughout the year that benefit the community.
Helping our credit union partners
Credit unions have an immediate and direct connection with their communities.
We work hard to contribute to the success of our credit union partners, because when they succeed, the people and businesses in their local communities are strengthened.
Supporting the United Way - in a big way
By supporting the United Way, we are able to direct funds to those who are in need in our community, often helping them to create a better life.
Each year our contribution to this organization grows. More than 90% of Credential staff participated in the most recent United Way Campaign. As a result, we increased our pledges by 250% over the previous year.
Green for blues: Denim Fridays
Giving to charity is a weekly event at Credential.
Every Friday, employees wear denim if they donate a dollar to a designated charity. Every month, based on staff suggestions, a different organization is selected as the recipient of these donations.
Committed to philanthropy
Organizing charitable events is like a second job at Credential — quite literally, for members of our Philanthropy Committee.
Food and clothing drives, bowl-a-thons, softball tournaments, and daffodil days are just some of the activities we hold. These events raise significant amounts of money for charities such as local women's shelters and food banks, Big Brothers, the BC Children's Hospital, and the BC Cancer Society.
